QUESTION METHODOLOGY
The timer should be hard.
The question should be fair.
A fast game owes you a clear task. This is the editorial standard we aim for, the checks we use, and what those checks cannot guarantee.
Start with a defensible answer
Factual questions are stored as content, with answers, distractors, category and verification metadata. They are not invented by a language model while you play. A single-answer item should have one defensible answer given its exact wording. For instructions with multiple acceptable choices, the rule must make that clear: “press a wrong answer” can intentionally accept more than one option.
Check the claim inside the question
“Attributed to,” “written by,” “discovered by” and “popularised by” are different claims. The Odyssey is traditionally attributed to Homer; that does not settle every question about oral composition. Etymologies need a documented origin, not a memorable folk story. Cultural practices may cross borders, so we avoid unsupported claims that a tradition belongs exclusively to one country.
Ambiguity can be the task, not an accident
If a sentence permits two readings, an ambiguity question must allow that outcome. “We cannot tell” is different from “both happened.” Ordinary action instructions should instead remove uncertainty: “First tap 7, then tap 6” states an order directly. Mathematical median and physical middle are named separately.
Content checks and their limits
The repository contains validation for structured questions, options, identifiers and generated challenges. These checks can catch missing answers, duplicate options and broken game state. They cannot prove a cultural claim true, judge every translation, or establish that a challenge is enjoyable. Source checking and human feedback are still necessary.
Discover articles are prepared with AI assistance, checked against linked references, and include original worked examples. A source link is evidence to inspect, not a claim that the source endorses this game. We do not invent expert bylines or label automated checks as human review.
Difficulty and time
Difficulty should reflect prerequisite knowledge and the reasoning or actions required, rather than obscurity alone. The engine uses challenge-specific timing. Reading allowance is a setting, not a penalty. Comparisons on shared rankings distinguish relevant engine and play settings.
Translation is part of the puzzle
Greek, English and Albanian gameplay share an architecture, but a word-class task or a capitalisation puzzle cannot always keep the same answer after translation. Such items need their displayed options and intended answer checked together. We do not claim that every existing translation has received native-speaker review. Discover publishes English articles and a worked-example collection with full Greek, English and Albanian questions and explanations. Practice uses the canonical game renderer and answer rules. Language links lead to complete pages, without automatic redirects. Practice is untimed and does not change ranked runs. Newly sourced items remain outside competitive play while human translation review is pending.
Shared days and fresh Endless runs
Daily resets at 00:00 UTC. Compatible engines and settings use the same daily sequence. Friend links preserve the sequence rules they reference. Endless can use local exposure history to reduce recent factual repetition; personal history must not change a shared Daily or Friend sequence. A limited pool needs a fallback rather than an impossible selection.
Correcting a problem
Send the exact wording, language and page or mode through the creator’s profile. Explain whether the issue is the fact, a second valid option, translation or interaction. Include a reference when available. Do not include private player credentials.
Corrections should be tested in staging before publication. Changes to scoring or sequence rules require version care so old shared runs are not silently reinterpreted. Editorial articles can explain a fact without changing the active question bank.
